But there are ways to avoid them, if you think ahead.
Double doors are one way. Here are three more---but be careful that the cure isn't worse than the disease. More room is a safe solution.

With a single swinging door in a small room there is no place to stand while closing the door.
Swinging the door out might work or it could just move the problem to the hallway.
Bi-fold doors avoid the problem.
A pocket door also eliminates the need to sidle in alongside the bowl.

It's very easy for this door to be in the way when it's open.
These doors are often hard to lock from the inside if that's important to you.
